Bill and Ben are twin engines and identical in every way. Bill wears a huge devious grin most of the day, and spends his time working between the clay pits of the Sodor China Clay Company and the Harbor. Ben enjoys being mischievous and teasing the other engines in the Railway.

- After a rockslide at the Quarry, it was the quick thinking of Bill, along with his brother Ben, that rescued all of the workers and brought them to safety.
- Bill and Ben are low-slung 0-4-0 Saddle-tank engines built by WT Bagnall of Stafford.
